Journelle
Drop-Off Catering
11.03.09

The Dinner Belle, as always, was happy to join forces with our favorite NYC lingerie boutique "Journelle" and provide catering for another fabulous trunk show. Instead of bringing in our full team to set up stations or pass canapes in-house, our client opted for a simper tactic this go around, and ordered three beautiful drop off-platters - each just as artistic and bountiful as any station we might have set up on site. Crafted from the finest ingredients, we prepared two savory Mediterranean Charcuterie platters, complete with a smattering of high end cheese and cured meats, seasonal berries, dried fruits, and our signature garlic crostini, in addition to a gorgeous dessert platter which included handmade chocolate truffles, fresh baked cookies and miniature cupcakes. We're sure the event was a sexy success and look forward to our next event with Journelle!
A Feast Fit for a Queen
9.30.09

Our 2nd Annual Chef's Tasting Menu for our favorite Macy's client, Parlux, hired us again this fall to create a feast fit for a "Queen." Queen Latifah that is! As The Queen embarks on her first foray into fragrances with a scent bearing her own name, "Queen," Parlux set out to celebrate the occasion with a four course dinner party prepared by The Dinner Belle in a envy inspiring West Village townhouse. Complete with a Tuscan kitchen to make you drool, a gorgeously landscaped roof deck patio, and 3 floors of collected antiques to gawk at, this little slice of heaven was the perfect place to roll up our sleeves and treat guests to a menu that included: Canapés - smoked sardo watermelon napoleons, strawberry shrimp ceviche, heirloom beet crostini, beef carpaccio bundles; First Course - caprese salad stacks; Pasta Course - butternut squash ravioli in brown butter sage sauce; Main Course - early autumnal bouillabaisse; Dessert: pear crostada, tiramisu trifle, chocolate bonbons, pumpkin pizelles, whole wheat apple muffins and farmhouse cheese plate. The night was a great success with millions sold and 40 bellies well fed. We couldn't have asked for a better launch into autumn's harvest bounty.
Vogue's Fashion Night Out
Stuart Weitzman
9.10.09

On September 10th, Vogue launched an initiative to encourage retail shopping, restore consumer confidence, and above all, celebrate the wonderful world of fashion. Deemed "Fashion's Night Out," this global event encouraged both U.S. and international designers to host their own soirees, as the fashionistas among us swept the streets of Madison and 5th, popping in and out of stores for a few goodies and surprises. The Dinner Belle had the extreme pleasure of working with Stuart Weitzman, in not just one, but both of his NYC boutiques. Chef Belle held down the fort at Columbus Circle, serving up a beautiful mix of stationed and passed canapes, including our signature Watermelon Feta Napoleons and Caprese Salad Skewers, while Team Belle Two duplicated the same stunning spread over on Madsion Avenue (as seen above). With Stuart himself in house playing ping pong (no lie!), people were as excited about our food as they were about the new fall line of boots! It was a match made in heaven. Clearly Fashion + Food = Fabulous.

La Fiesta

The Society Supper Salon
NYC Tenement Museum
9.01.09

The Dinner Belle was recently invited back to prepare an encore meal for The Society's "Supper Salon Series." Against the backdrop of the beautiful and historic Lower East Side Tenement Museum, we created a six course feast that perfectly complimented the unique surroundings and seasonal late summer harvest. While our last Society event, the V33 Supper Salon, was modern and sleek, this event basked in old New York nostalgia, complimenting the cuisine of early American immigrants, whose preserved kitchens and living quarters were impressively on display throughout this historic site. The Dinner Belle presented an old world Charcuterie Spread to start the evening, and then moved on to serve a bountiful family style menu atop antique china, including: Watermelon & Feta Mojito Salad, Heirloom Tomato Stacks (as seen above), Chicken Cushions delicately wrapped in Proscuitto di Parma (fresh off the boat from Italy), and a Duet of Handmade Ravioli topped with mozzarella balls and a farm fresh cherry tomato glaze. For dessert, Chef Belle's take on the classic Milk & Cookies combo offered an ode to her American childhood: just out of the oven jumbo chocolate chip cookies (topped with fleur de sel, of course!) were paired with Zacapa Rum spiked chocolate-chipotle milk shots. The evening succeeded in taking us all back to a simpler time and celebrated NYC's rich tenement history, while all the while reminding us that great food and friends are timeless!
Grilling Flavor
Video Recipe

As summer draws to a close so too does grilling season! The Dinner Belles have been concocting charcoal flavors cooked over an open flame for months now, and as we bid our BBQs adieu, we leave you with one last grilling recipe for elotes callejeros, or Mexican-style corn-on-the-cob. Just click on the video screen above to watch us "man" the grill at The Supper Club's Cinco de Mayo party back in May. To view more video webisodes, visit Kimberly's blog, where you can also find the recipe for our scrumptious version of crack-on-the-cob. Eat it Up!
Luncheon & Lollipops
8.21.09

When the Dinner Belle last catered for our favorite Upper East Side client, we created a magnificent brunch to mark her baptism. A few years later, and quite the little lady, we were thrilled at the chance to come back and create another spread, this time to ring in her 3rd Birthday! Thinking in pink, the Birthday Girl's favorite color, we created a playful spread for the children. From fun-shaped PB&J cut-outs, to honey-nut chicken fingers and fresh fruit with a sweet cherry yogurt dipping sauce (pink of course!) the kids were delighted, while the adults feasted on more seasonal fare, including our signature Caprese Stacks, home-made Buffalo Basil Ravioli, and New Potato Salad. But no child's birthday party would be complete without cake, and since two is always better than one, we provided a duo of cakes: one vanilla, one chocolate, both topped with luscious butter cream and a myriad of decorative flowers (as seen above). To add a touch more icing to the cake, the children each went home with an overflowing goodie bag filled with lollipops galore, the perfect sweet ending to an even sweeter birthday party.

Queso Fundido
Video Recipe

The Dinner Belles are at it again! This time we've whipped up a pot of Queso Fundido, spicy cheese fondue, as part of The Supper Club Chef's Night In event we hosted back in May for Cinco de Mayo. Susan Magrino Agency
Rooftop BBQ
6.30.09

Despite their best attempt, the "Rain Gods" that have been plaguing NYC this season were no match for The Dinner Belle last Tuesday. Amidst a downpour that would have dampened the spirits of most, the enthusiastic agents from this renown company, braved the elements and enjoyed the delicious BBQ spread we prepared atop a glorious (yet damp) Union Square rooftop. Sans umbrella, Chef Belle manned the grilling station, preparing delectable Steak House burgers (as seen above) made to order and topped with aged cheddar, pepper jack or bleu cheese, as well as BBQ Marinated Chicken Breasts. Guest then topped their grilled offerings with their choice of over a dozen fixin's along with several side dishes, including: Chef Belle's signature New Potato Salad (get the recipe here), Grand Marnier Spiked Fruit Salad, Caprese Skewers and Assorted Cookie and Brownie Platters. To top it all off, The Dinner Belle served pitchers of specialty cocktails, The Spicy Pepino and Sangria Blanco, which kept guests happy and warm (on the inside anyway)!
Tequila Spiked Mango Guacamole
Video Recipe

The Dinner Belles were heating up the kitchen a few weeks back when we taught a collection of Supper Club members how to make our very own recipe for Tequila Spiked Mango Guacamole. You can watch us in action by clicking on the video screen above or visit Kimberly's blog where she has posted the recipe.
¡Buen provecho!

Journelle
06.18.09

The Dinner Belle was thrilled to pair up with Journelle for a second round of lingerie, libations and luscious food as we catered a private seasonal sale in the showroom of our favorite Union Square boutique. As Journelle promoted their "7 Summer Essentials Sale," we also celebrated and showcased the finest food this season has to offer. In honor of Summer, and in the spirit of preserving those bikini waist lines, we created a healthy yet indulgent spread of fresh assorted crudite and savory dips, such as Green Goddess and Red Pepper Puree. As the ladies browsed the store and debated whether or not to purchase that black lacy neglige, we also encouraged an air of indulgence as we tempted our guests with our signatnature Charcutierie Board (as seen above), complete with the finest spiced meats and triple creme cheese to boot. With a scent of lavendar in the air, and free flowing sparkling Rose, the evening was quite simply, a lovely one.

The Society Supper Salon
05.13.09

The Society joined forces with The Dinner Belle to host the first event in a series of Supper Salons aimed at introducing their members to movers-and-shakers in the arts community. This inaugural dinner party was held in the V33 Tribeca showroom for the new, green condominium space developed by internationally renowned architect Winka Dubbledam. Titled "Beyond the Banal: A Look at the Future of Architecture," the evening kept its promise as guests were treated to a live jazz band, in-depth discussion about green design in New York City, and a veritable spring feast from the Belles themselves. On the menu were our signature Chocolate Truffles, a composed Melon and Serrano Ham Salad, a Pesto Pasta Verdi of fiddlehead ferns, asparagus, and ramps, and a Duet of Focaccia featuring strawberries & goat cheese, and English peas with fava beans. The spring harvest has officially sprung!
Mexican Fiesta
05.03.09

In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, The Dinner Belle paired up with The Supper Club to co-host an afternoon which was equal parts educational, spicy, and festive. We were proud to launch this brand new "Chef's Night In" series, where notable chefs tackle a regional cuisine and teach guests how to prepare a meal compete with cocktail pairings. With a piñata hanging in the background and authentic south of the border tunes humming, The Dinner Belles took center stage in a state of the art kitchen where we taught a marathon lesson, enlightening guests on how to make everything from Tequila Spiked Mango Guacamole, to Grilled Napa Shrimp Tacos and unbeatable Huitlacoche (mushroom) Quesadillas. Guests, dressed to impress, weren't afraid to get their hands dirty as they helped shuck fresh corn and fry up homemade tortilla chips as the meal came together. With the help of delicious tequila cocktails provided by Tres Generaciones, guests diced, danced, and dined the day away. Ole!

Corcoran Open House
04.23.09

Luxury and The Dinner Belle have always gone hand in hand, but we took things to new heights when we added Corcoran to our already impressive client list. This top notch real estate company hired us to create beautiful platters of food that matched their new opulent listing, a magnificent and sprawling complex in the heart of Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn complete with it's own private gym and cafe. As prospective buyers browsed these amazing new units and took in the spectacular views, they were equally amazed with the look, quality, and above all, taste of our Charcuterie Platters. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Corcoran and welcome them to our family.

Laser Cosmetica Launch
04.07.09

In the spirit of Spring and every girl's search for that everlasting fountain of youth, The Dinner Belle joined forces with Laser Cosmetica to help launch their newest spa location in the Flatiron District. In addition to creating two luscious and visually stunning edible centerpieces, we provided a full service bar complete with refreshing French bubbly and rich, red Tuscan wine. Guests snacked on the best seasonal market vegetables accompanied by creamy green goddess dressing and spicy roasted red pepper puree, and then gave in to their deepest desires as they indulged in our signature Charcuterie Board,
complete with an array of Continental meats, cheeses and fruit.
Both the food and the cocktail party were a beautiful celebration of
a healthy yet decadent lifestyle, one that is a true reflection of the Belles!

TopShop Launch
04.02.09 ~ 04.05.09

When TOPSHOP blew into town, New Yorkers willingly submitted to a practice they typically deplore: waiting in line. As thousands of people lined the blocks of Soho to go shopping at London's most popular fashion haunt, The Dinner Belle was on hand to keep the crowds sated with sweet British treats like Jammy Dodgers (as seen above), Cheesy Biscuits and Strawberry & Cream Stuffed Scones. Kate Moss may have been the opening act of the event, but anyone with a sweet tooth would tell you,
our cookies and treats stole the show.
A Chocolate Anniversary
02.28.09

The Dinner Belle recently provided a bevy of sweet treats for a private client hosting an Anniversary Party at her and her husband's beautiful suburban home. Just as sweet as the fact that the couple was celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, were the delicate confections set out for guests a top a beautiful buffet table. From our signature truffles, to classic French pots du creme (as seen above), not to mention a decorative fountain of dark chocolate fondu serving as the centerpiece, guests more than satisfied their sweet tooths. And to make sure our savory friends weren't too jealous, The Dinner Belle assembled numerous platters of unique and magnificent cheeses that paired nicely with a selection of both robust and delicate wines from the Napa Valley, another favorite place of our celebrated couple. To top it all off, Chef Belle prepared a five layer chocolate trifle, a reincarnation of the flavors contained in their wedding cake four decades ago. We wish our friends and clients another wonderful 40 years!
Valentine's Dinner for Two
02.14.09

The Dinner Belles celebrated Valentine's Day in the kitchen, whipping together a private dinner for two in a cozy Manhattan apartment. Our client asked us if we could bring all the romance of the holiday into his home to treat his wife to a 4 star, 3 course meal in the comforts of their own dining room. Happy to oblige, we uncovered his love's penchant for Spanish cuisine and prepared a meal of all her favorites: lavender crusted lamb ribs a la plancha (as seen above), shrimp and chorizo stew over a bed of pureed celeriac root with a side of winter dinosaur greens, and molten chocolate sangria cake. ¡Buen provecho!
Super Bowl Madness
02.01.09

The Dinner Belles got warmed up this Winter, flexing their culinary muscles in preparation for the mother of all sporting events: The Super Bowl! That's right, your favorite Belles donned baseball caps and team jerseys as they cooked a sporty feast for a flock of east coast football enthusiasts hosting their own game day party in Connecticut. From spicy, hearty black sausage chili, to our signature seven layer bean dip, suicidal homemade Buffalo chicken wings (as seen above), and foaming brewmaster speciality beer cocktails, these players most definitely scored a touchdown!
Holiday Gift Boxes
12.10.08

"Ding-Dong, Ding-Dong, Christmas bells are ringing!" This past holiday season, The Dinner Belle was proud to contribute to the Silver Bells Holiday Ball, benefiting families in need. Hosted in an enchanted loft space in downtown Manhattan, The Dinner Belles hand-rolled hundreds of chocolate truffles for the occasion. Each gift box (as seen above) included our signature dark chocolate bourbon bonbons rolled in crystalized ginger, milk chocolate peanut-butter balls topped with fleur de sel, gold dusted chocolate covered cherries, and coconut covered white chocolate marzipan snowballs. Tis the season for giving, and as charitable New Yorkers lined up to write checks for families needing extra help during the holidays, The Dinner Belles were thrilled to celebrate their efforts with a sweet contribution of their own.
Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving "Take Away" Dinner
11.27.08

Taking our inspiration from rich, autumnal colors and the bountiful fall harvest at local farmers’ markets, The Dinner Belle provided the perfect holiday solution for the hostess who wanted the “most-ess” without all the fuss. The Dinner Belle prepared an entire take-away Thanksgiving Feast to feed 15 guests for a family style buffet. Included in the meal were the Thanksgiving standards Americans cherish, like turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, and sweet potato pie (as seen above), but Chef Belle also added her signature flare to every dish, ensuring that these classic recipes were both comforting and chic. Party guests with both meat-eating and vegetarian palettes delighted in the myriad of offerings placed before them, while our client was able to relax and enjoy the holiday without slaving over a stovetop. Just ring The Dinner Belle and we’ll take care of the rest!
Dinner Belle's 1 Year Anniversary
11.15.08

In celebration of our first full year as a company, The Dinner Belle played hostess, as we toasted the fine folks who have hired us, worked for us, and supported us in '08. In the spirit of our "boutique" catering company status, the affair was an intimate but memorable one. Located in our Brooklyn abode, every table top was graced with festive sweets…like candied, pretzel cigs and cigars (as seen above), pumpkin pizzelle cookies, plus our classic charcuterie board, filled with an assortment of spiced meats and aged cheeses. With the help of our favorite local wine vendor, Sip Fine, rustic and lush wines were flowing as freely as the bubbly Champagne. Here's to many more years to come!
Macy's "Fancy" Dinner
10.14.08

A true feather in The Dinner Belle's cap this year was our “Fancy” event. We presented a high-end, seated dinner for 30 executives, complete with a champagne reception on the private roof terrace of a gorgeous, rented penthouse. The executives were from Macy’s, clients of Parlux, a top-notch perfume company, and the celebration was for Jessica Simpson’s new fragrance, called “Fancy.” At our event, guests feasted on canapés such as our signature, truffle mousse mushroom tarts and grilled scallop burgers, before sitting down to Kimberly’s decadent, “fancy” tasting menu. They toasted partnerships and bottom lines with wines paired with plates like Burgundy braised octopus salad and black coffee chocolate-spiked beef short ribs accompanied by pumpkin risotto. After individual apple tartlets a la mode and heavenly White Chocolate Coconut Cake (as seen above), Kimberly and I were urged to come out and say “hello.” So we smiled big, headed out in our matching aprons and received a standing ovation!
Journelle Trunk Show
10.02.08

The Dinner Belle was thrilled to partner up with their favorite lingerie boutique for this sexy cocktail reception. Journelle, located in Union Square, is a budding new company, with a stunning collection of delicate and classic women's lingerie. To help them wow the crowds flocking to their latest trunk show, The Dinner Belle provided one of a kind canapes that were hand passed on the floor of the store. As guests (95% women and about 5% doting husbands/boyfriends) browsed the hottest corsets and nighties, they feasted on Strawberry Shrimp Ceviche (as seen above), Heirloom Tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella Crostini, Proscuitto wrapped Figs atop a cloud of Ricotta on Raisin Walnut Bread, as well as decadent Three Bean Toasts. Complimented by cocktails from Camitz, guests went home with both their taste buds and their taste for sexy couture...more than satisfied.
Lyons Wier Ortt Gallery Dinner
09.29.08

The Dinner Belle was thrilled to cater this intimate dinner in celebration of up and coming artist Melodie Provenzano, located at the Lyons Wier Ortt Gallery, in the heart of Chelsea. As guests gathered on this autumn night dedicated to friendship, family, and a one of a kind art installation entitled, "Debutant," The Dinner Belle worked their magic to make the entire evening reflect this unique artwork and artist. Guests reveled in everything, from the bold and eclectic table setting, (as seen above) to the one of a kind menu prepared by Chef Belle, including her signature Octopus Salad, Proscuitto Wrapped Chicken Cushions, Harvest Risotto, and Warm Apple Crumble topped with homemade salted caramel ice cream for dessert. Dinner guests were also treated to a decadent array of choice wines and champagne that accompanied each of their three courses. Each wine was hand selected by The Dinner Belle from their favorite local Park Slope vedor, Sip Fine Wines. To top off the extraordinary evening, Chef Belle made an appearance at the end of the night, and greeted guests, sending them each home with a wake up naked Breakfast Bar. It was the perfect sweet ending to a lovely night.
Sue Stemp Show ~ Fashion Week
09.04.08

The Dinner Belle, dressed to impress, were front and center at the start of this season's much anticipated Fashion Week. Hosted in a brand new multi-level penthouse in the heart of the Meat Packing District, British designer Sue Stemp revealed her new line in a magnificent rooftop runway show. In addition to eyeing the clothing (and the models) over 300 guests enjoyed several Mediterranean inspired stations prepared by The Dinner Belle. From homemade hummus and crispy crudite, to overflowing boards of spicy meats and smoky cheeses (as seen above), the fare was as perfect as its cocktail companions, courtesy of Camitz Vodka, a unique sparkling vodka. Juicy, summer fruit skewers and dark chocolate covered strawberries made the perfect sweet ending to a seemless night.
Shanghai Tang Book Signing
07.10.08

The Dinner Belle was proud to team up with The Asia Society and world renowned fashion boutique, Shanghai Tang, to create the perfect taste to help launch the book, "Planet Shanghai." Guests perused the stores eclectic offerings while feasting on a beautiful and globally inspired array of canapes, including Cajun dusted shrimp atop a bed of seasonal salsa and tequila-spiked guacamole, Truffle Mousse Parmesan Tuiles (as seen above), Buckwheat Blinis with a dollop of salmon and dill infused creme fraiche and Caviar, as well as skewers of summer's juiciest watermelon squares layered between cubes of Greek Feta and finished with Fig Vin Cotto. Held on the beautiful and timeless grounds of the Morris Jumel Mansion, deemed the "oldest" house in all of Manhattan, built atop the scenic hillside in 1754, guests spent the night sprawled out on decorative blankets, listening to stylized jazz, and dining on exquisite picnic fare, catered by yours truly. Partnering with Tanqueray Ten, Supper Club members, dressed to impress, enjoyed summery cocktails, and a sprawling buffet including a multitude of specialty items. All in all, the weather delighted, and the food highlighted this beautiful House on Sugar Hill.
Classic Car Club
04.15.08

The Dinner Belle recently took a joy ride back to the 1950's while catering an event for 100 of New York's elite at New York City's exclusive Classic Car Club. As guests mingled throughout the vast, trendy warehouse space, filled with antique cars on display from decades past, they were served some of The Dinner Belle's most fun and flirty food to date. In addition to the authentic hot dog cart stationed in the center of the space, complete with homemade potato buns and a fixin's bar to rival Coney Island, our servers sported roller skates and zoomed around while passing such treats as Truffled Deviled Eggs with Parmesan Tuiles (as seen above) and Grilled Pana Cotto and Fontina rounds on Country Sour Dough Bread, to name just a few. House Popped Cheddar Corn and Old Fashioned Rice Krispy Treat S'Mores, filled with marshmallow cream and Nutella brought guests back to a younger time and
delighted their sweeter sides.

Working closely with Moet-Hennessy, we were able to present an assortment of canapes that paired beautifully with four distinct libations. From the Belvedere room, where Potato Latkes flew off the silver chargers & Bloody Mary Shooters were garnished with dill infused prawns, to the 10-Cane Run station, where Buffalo Bacon Cheddar & Chroizo skewers competed with Caribbean Tuna Ceviche for favorite bite of the night, to the Tuscan charm of the Cheese and Crostini buffet which occupied the wine bar, to the bathtub filled with Napa Valley Chandon, surrounded by piles of Chocolate Truffles, Black & White Pretzels, and yes, even White & Dark Chocolate Lollipops (as seen above),
